This website provides an archive for my teaching and writing on religion and theology, and the reversals which occur therein. Some two millennia ago, St. Paul penned a metaphor about our ability to apprehend ultimate reality and divine things.  "For now I see in a mirror dimly," he wrote. That is, if we glimpsed truth in the mirror it'd be reversed and possibly dimmed. This idea echoed previous Greek and Hebrew thought and inspired a history of philosophical and theological consideration of the relation between faith, reason and the limits of human knowledge. From Augustine to Heidegger, Anselm to Barth, the echoes reverberate to this day.

Gideon's Kindle

Timothy Stanley

"The Hotel Indigo in Newcastle, England, is replacing the once-ubiquitious Gideon's Bible with Kindles -- in every one of its 148 rooms -- starting July 16. Travelers looking forward to finding the Bible in the hotel's dresser drawer need not worry, however: The Bible is pre-loaded onto the e-readers from Amazon." - "Rocky Raccoon checked into his room, only to find a Kindle?" http://lat.ms/N8at6h
