    • Group for Religious and Intellectual Traditions (GRIT)
      I am the current convenor of the Group for Religious and Intellectual Traditions (GRIT), at the University of Newcastle, Australia. Religion and Religious Studies at the UoN scored 4* in the recent the Excellence in Research Australia (ERA) assessment.
    • Centre for Religion and Political Culture (CRPC)
      From Sept 2008 to Sept 2010 I held a postdoctoral research and teaching fellowship at the University of Manchester, hosted within the CRPC. I maintain a research association with this centre in my current post at the University of Newcastle.
    • American Academy of Religion
      This is one of the largest and most influential research and networking bodies in the study of religions and theology. I have been a member since 2002 and have presented research papers at their annual conferences.
    • Society of Biblical Literature
      The Society of Biblical Literature, like the AAR, is an important research and networking body in the study of biblical and ancient near eastern literature. I have been a member since 2002 and presented a paper at their 2006 conference.
